Historical Significance of the Ledo Road
- Ledo Road was one of the most significant factors to decide the victory between the contenting powers of Allies and Axis in the Asia front during World War II. It was also the vital factor for the survival of the Chinese Chang Kai-sheik Government at that time. Besides, it was the main cause for the invasion of Japan into Myanmar. Therefore, Ledo Road had played an important role in the Second World War. Why and how the Road was constructed, not only the political but also the social and economic effects on the people along the Road till nowadays will be emphasized in this research paper.
